“I didn’t,” he laughed. “I hoped you would.”
She laughed. “Then I’m glad I did,” she told him, grinning and squeezing his leg gently. “I’m really excited.”
He smiled and came to a stop at a light, so he leaned over to kiss her cheek before straightening again. “I just… think we need some time together. Away from everything. And I sort of promised we’d go somewhere last Christmas, and that… didn’t turn out.”
