She smiled sadly. “I’ve been wanting to ask you that too,” she said softly. “I was just… thinking … I don’t want you to stay at your dad’s, Ry. Everyone knows that’s bad for you. I was just thinking, because there is that extra room, we could be more like roommates in that sense for a little while. You have your space, I have mine. I mean, I… think us being all serious relationship wise should go on the back burner until we can sort things out with you, you know? If you still don’t think it’s a good idea, that’s fine. I was just thinking.”
“I don’t… mind,” he said quietly. “Living with my dad. It’s not awful.” He wasn’t sure she’d believe that, but it was, curiously, the truth. Things had been a lot better, especially now that Ryan could sort of see things from his side. “I mean I… I want to,” he told her. “I want to with you, I do. I’m just afraid that we’ll… Jump. Into things.”
