Ryan’s phone shut with a derisive snap, and he let it fall to the mattress beside him. He’d been thinking a lot recently about talking to Sawyer, letting things out, if not everything. And while he knew it was inevitable, something he hadto do more than he wanted to, he still wasn’t sure it was something he was ready for. Then again, there were a lot of things in his life that he certainly hadn’t been ready for at the time, and he was still doing alright.
Well, more or less, anyway.
He sighed out and rubbed his eyes, glancing over at his bedside table as he got to his feet, considering for a moment. Then he turned and picked up his phone and headed out, shutting his door a little too aggressively on the way. His dad was downstairs, he knew, and he had no plans to tell him he was going out, let alone to where.
All things considered, it was probably a good thing that Sawyer was still in Tree Hill. He knew it was a bad idea for her to come over with his dad home, and he really wasn’t feeling up to driving. So he walked instead. When he arrived at her house he went up to the door and knocked, feeling a wave of relief that her parents weren’t home. He didn’t feel much like pretending.
