She looked over at him and paused a beat, looking at him and staying silent. She slowly nodded, tucking some hair back behind her ear. “Okay,” she said softly. “But if… if you did mean it, that’s okay too. We all have … times when we feel that way.”
“Yeah,” he nodded. “Just, you seem like the kind of person that worries a lot,” he told her. “So I just wanted you to know you don’t… have to. About me. If you were,” he added after a beat, realizing it was a bit audacious to just assume she had been.
