“Why’s that? A rough sleeper?” she asked, glancing over at him. She couldn’t really think of any other reason, though she did acknowledge then that it was a rather stupid question if the answer was so obvious. Still, it was better to check rather than assume.
He paused a moment, almost caught off guard by that suggesting. “Um… That,” he agreed with a nod. “But also just… I don’t know. Four pm? It’s too light outside. Too hot in the summer.”
