He laughed. “If you get lost, I’ll just come back in and find you,” he said, rolling his eyes and smiling easily. “Hopefully I can find the car by then. I don’t remember which car garage I parked it in this morning,” he added, “but I’ll be out front soon,” he said, moving for the doors.
“Yeah, alright,” he nodded, and then spun on one heel to head up to the counter. He wasn’t even sure himself why he was being so sketchy about all of this, except if Owen knew the real reason why he was at the pharmacy, there were bound to be uncomfortable questions and unnecessary worrying to follow. He paid for his prescription and was about to tear the bag open when he paused and, for good measure, asked after Sawyer’s medication anyway. He might as well save her a trip down here if he could. While the pharmacist was collecting his girlfriend’s things, he carefully ripped open the bag with his pills in them and took one, having missed one this morning. A few minutes later he was headed back out of the hospital, making a mental note to text Sawyer when he got outside.
