“As long as he’s not being a total asshole to you,” he said softly. “I’d like to think he’s let up after the accident but … ” Owen didn’t really know if he had. He didn’t really talk to their father at all anymore.
“Yeah, that works for me,” Owen agreed. “Do you want to take my vehicle or yours?” he asked, swinging his keys around his finger.
“He’s not,” he said quickly. “He’s um… a lot better,” he assured his brother with a nod. Ryan didn’t really spend much time interacting with their father these days, opting instead to avoid it as much as he could.
“We can take yours,” he said after a moment, relieved that he was down to just meet outside instead of accompanying him to the counter. “That way you can just head home, and I can come back to grab my car,” he said with a bit of a shrug. He didn’t want Owen to have to do too much running around if he was tired.
