Crash Course in Polite Conversations || Ryan&Owen

“You can,” he said, grinning. “It just seemed out of the blue, that’s all,” he told him. His grin faltered and he sighed. “So … how’s that going?” he asked, shifting his bag to the other arm. “You know you could always stay at my place in the spare room if you don’t want to live with him.” It always worried him when Ryan was living with their dad. He would just rather Ryan found somewhere else.

“Hey, I think I can handle at least an hour or two if you wanted to get something to eat?” he offered. “I’ll pay. It’s not like I get out that much anymore to spend all my money,” he joked.

“I can be spontaneous,” he shrugged. When Owen’s grin faltered, Ryan had to fight not to let out a sigh. Here came the worrying, or the questions, or… whatever. “Yeah, I know,” he nodded. “It’s not so bad,” he said, shrugging a shoulder. “Just not used to it anymore. Getting there.”

He paused a moment and then nodded. “Yeah. Sure, sounds good,” he agreed. He’d have to double back later, unless… “Uh… let me just go check if Sawyer’s prescription’s ready,” he said. “I told her I’d check if I dropped by. It’ll just take a sec, I can meet you outside.”
