He smiled, amused. “Why are you looking for me?” he asked with an easy laugh. It seemed a bit odd for his little brother to be there looking for him, unless it was something important. Still, he had to admit that he was happy to see him, even if the worry hadn’t quite let up yet.
“I just got off of work, actually. Thought I’d go home and crash for a little while … been a long day,” he said, shoving his free hand into the pocket of his jeans. He was itching for sleep, but he hadn’t seen his brother in so long, he wouldn’t be opposed to spending some time with him first.
“What, can’t a guy drop by his brother’s place of work to say hey?” he asked, shrugging his shoulders. “Especially when said little brother is living with dad again,” he added, rolling his eyes. That was probably a more believable reason, in any case.
He nodded in understanding. “Makes sense,” he agreed. “I mean, if you gotta go crash, you gotta go crash,” he said simply. He wasn’t going to protest if Owen wanted to just head home, especially since he hadn’t even expected him to be off work in the first place.
